Your setup, garden profile, saved advice, and completed tasks stay in this browser. Clearing your browser data removes them.

What leaves your browser

Postcode validation sends the exact postcode you enter to api.postcodes.io, which returns a region and coordinates. Those coordinates are rounded to about a kilometre before the forecast request goes to the Met Office, and map tiles are fetched through this site rather than by your browser, so OpenWeatherMap never sees you directly.

Anthropic receives bounded region, garden, and derived-weather context when you ask for growing advice. It does not receive your exact postcode or coordinates.

Analytics and your choices

We use anonymous, cookieless Vercel Web Analytics to see which pages are useful. You can block it without losing any GrowGuide feature. GrowGuide creates no user accounts, sells no data, and runs no advertising trackers.

On variety guides we count seed-link clicks by crop, variety and retailer, and whether the link is an affiliate link. We do not send your garden profile with these events. A temporary marker in this tab’s session storage lets us count a return to the Grow Guide within 24 hours of viewing a variety guide. It contains only the crop and visit time, is removed when you return, and ends when the tab is closed. This measurement does not follow you across devices.

Seed links take you to a separate retailer website, which has its own privacy policy. Affiliate links, when used, are labelled on the guide; the current ordinary links do not earn us a commission.
